Merry Meet!
Honestly, I don't like "About Me" sections. Who really reads this stuff anyway? Let's see, what could you possibly want to know about me?
Well, let's get the personal stuff out the way. I have two amazing sons who have mastered the art of getting on my nerves while at the same time melting my heart in a way that no other human being can. We live out in the sticks in South Carolina. I'm the type of person who has many interests so it's rare that you would ever hear me say that I have nothing to do and actually mean it. I graduated in 2010 with a BS in Alternative Medicine. I have homeschooled my sons and worked from home since 2008. I guess you could say I am a part-time paranormal investigator. I used to work with a local group, but over time we parted ways so now I basically work solo or with a select few when an opportunity presents itself. To add to the many things I already have to keep me busy, I've now added that I'm an aspiring author. May the gods help us all!
As for my spirituality, let's just say that it has been an interesting road traveled thus far. I realized around 2004 that I was indeed pagan. I wasn't sure what that meant entirely, but I knew that's what I was. I had long ago thrown Christianity out the window, but longed for something to fill its place. I am traveling this road solo, for the most part. Living in the Bible Belt, pagans are clearly out numbered. You can sometimes see glimpses of a few small gatherings, but it isn't until you somehow find another pagan in your area that you see where all the non-christians collect. I've been fortunate to find some in my area, thanks to the internet, but after meeting with them, well, let's just say that it didn't quite work out as well as I had hoped. I started this podcast to help me on my journey. It's clearly working out for me so I hope I can continue this podcast for as long as I see fit. Currently I'm studying dark paganism. Some people don't consider this anything different than regular pagan practice, but I beg to differ. I've always been drawn to the darker things in life and not so much the lighter things. I do believe we should have balance in everything in our lives, including our spirituality, but so many people already cover all the light and love aspects. I want to bring attention to the shadows. This wasn't my intention when I first started the podcast, but through doing the podcast, I was able to find what worked and didn't work for me while traveling on my pagan path.
When I first started the podcast in 2009, I was so excited, eager, and nervous. I had never done anything like this before. I wanted to have a successful podcast, so I tried to take the "safe" route and cover topics that didn't lean to far right or left. Then one day it hit me. I wasn't doing the podcast for me anymore. I was doing it for what I thought people wanted to hear. I was too scared to tell people how I really felt, because I didn't want to be misunderstood. I mean, it was hard for me to even explain my beliefs to myself, much less anyone else. It took me this long to really grasp the idea that this is my journey and as a pagan, I can make this journey my own. I read a book about nocturnal witchcraft, then I read another book about dark paganism, then I read a few more books. I had finally figured out what I wanted to study, and that was dark paganism. Don't get me wrong, I study the lighter side too, but for my podcast I will be focusing on the darker side. If you only want the lighter side, there are many other really great podcasts that provide that perspective exclusively.
As my journey progresses and changes, so does my podcast. I am proud and honored to have Jerry as my co-host now. He has lived a life exploring many religious backgrounds in order to find himself and I'm glad we found each other here on the darker side of the pagan path. He will be a great addition to this podcast for sure. Not only does he share in many of my views, he has a fatastic dark sense of humor, which was a necessity for any co-host of mine.
I guess for this last portion I'll share some really dull information about myself. Not sure what to share, but I'll give it a shot.
I love coffee. I have a weakness for chocolate raspberry flavoring! I have to have coffee every morning like a crackhead needs a fix! I'm totally into vampires (vampyres). I will confess, and I'll probably lose some listeners, but I love me some Twilight. This also got me into a lot of other books which led me to finding myself wishing my husband had fangs and wanted to lean over me in the bed just so he could taste my blood! Crazy? Nah. A girl can have a fantasy if she wants. It's actually healthy. The story I'm currently writing is a paranormal romance involving, you guessed it, vampires. They are really fun to write about. I promise, my vampires don't glitter and they do have fangs! I have a black cat named Twilight. (I didn't name the cat Twilight, the kids actually did this. I raise my hand to the gods on this as fact.) I have 4 tattoos and a few piercings. What can I say.... I'm a hip Southern witchy mom!
Well, if there's ever anything else you want to know, just ask. I promise, I don't bite. Well, not at first anyway ;)
Blessed Be!
Jerry
Carry on my wayward son
there will be peace when you are done
lay your weary head to rest and don't you cry no more!
- Kansas :)I would love that on my tombstone but would probably cost someone a whole lot of money after I am gone so screw it.
Hi, I am Jerry I am proud to be the co host of this podcast with the beautiful and brash Meadow Moon.
I live in South Louisiana, for me it is paradise at times and hell at others mainly during hurricane season.
I have been blessed with a beautiful son who was born in January of 2012, he is truly my heart.
His name is Orion James, he has more magick in his little fingers than I have in my entire being. My magickal bio is quite insane I have tried many paths and crafts before I was able to settle in to one that fits who I am and not the other way around. I am against paths and religions that have you change who you are to adapt to them. Spiritual practice should be molded to the persons personality and all of their quirks and if a persons needs change they should make that decision not some priest or minister.
Anyway in a nutshell,
I have begged Jesus forgiveness,
I have danced with Samael and Lilith,
played the flute with Kokopelli,
made love with the Goddess and made the God watch lol,
I have tried many practices but have come to love dark paganism, do not confuse that with evil or bad intentions but truly what is darker than Mother Nature.Allah Akbar,
Jesus Saves,
Hare Krishna,
the Goddess is alive and magick is afoot,
and let's not forget Hail Satan.
